LCVP Higgens boats
LCVPs (Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel) could transport or 1-2 vehicles. The landing door on the leading edge was made of steel and could stop small arms fire, however the sides of the craft were made of wood and could not stop enemy bullets. Note the Rhino bardge in the background loaded with ambulances.
