Omaha Beach on the afternoon of D-Day

On Omaha beach German resistance was effective and American casualties were high. Shown are a knocked out Sherman deep wading tank, two trucks, a tractor and dead soldiers on the beach. In the surf the following beach obstacles can be seen: "Czech hedgehogs", "nutcrackers", and mines mounted on poles. The ship on the left is an LST (Landing, Ship, Tank).
