WWII poster: US Army Nurse Corps

Army Nurse Corps poster

The US Army nurses were skilled and dedicated, serving in every theater of the war. Due to their efforts there was an extremely low mortality rate among American military forces treated for injuries.

"Symbol of Life. The caduceus, worn by the Army nurse, symbolizes life for our wounded, hope for our homes; a future, not just a post for those fighting men. Ten thousand registered nurses are needed at once for a glorious service of mercy -- gratefully received by all who need it! " US Army Nurse Corps poster produced by Lejaren Hiller for the US Armed Services during WWII. Date 1939-45.
