Anti-invasion preparation

As the Nazi threat to Great Britain grew, anti-invasion preparations included military and civilian mobilization.

The Home Guard was formed in 1940 which consisted of volunteers who were mostly too old (over the age of 40) or too young (under the age of 18) to serve in the regular forces. The Home Guard came to be known as Dad's Army.

Civilian invasion committees were formed to work with the military and information was given to the civilian population as to what to do if the invasion occurred.
