Poster: V-mail

V-mail and microfim

V-mail was used during WWII to cut down on the space and weight of regular letters in order to speed up their delivery to and from soldiers and their loved ones at home. Messages were written on a special form which was then photographed on microfilm and later developed, printed and sent on to the recipient. V-mail was promoted as the patriotic way to send letters.

WWII poster encourages the use of V-mail. "Be with him at every mail call. V-mail is private, reliable, and patriotic."
